You CAN Reach Me By E-mail

Just a quick note to say that after numerous phone calls to Infobahn and numerous promises to "get back to me," yesterday two patient and helpful tech guys, both named Justin, called me (four times!) and, among the three of us, we managed to get my Lhasa e-mail and website administrative accounts re-established.

I even learned a new skill...how to use FileZilla! (Okay, so it is not difficult, but hey...I'd never done it before!)

Nope, this is not a Lhasa. It's my "grand-dog" Henri, an Affenpinscher!

You Can't Reach Me By E-Mail!

Ch. Joyslyn's Dazzling Marquis

So...the latest news is that, yes, Infobahn Outfitters of Macomb managed to restore my website and it now operates. Thank goodness! It took them nearly a week. What they have failed to do since Friday, January 14, is to fix things (1) so I can get to the lhasas@joyslynslhasaapsos.com email to read and respond to messages people have sent me and (2) so I can get into the website to update pages. It is very frustrating to type in the URLs and get a 404 message! I've been holding my temper so far since Stacy, who answers the Infobahn phone, does not deserve my ire. I've been calling everyday and perhaps one of these days she'll have the URL of my website ingrained in her mind so I won't have to spell it each time! (ha ha!) What I resent is the fact that although she puts in ticket after ticket asking the tech guys to call me, no one has. Anyway, if you have been emailing me at the email address associated with the website, understand that I know your emails are getting through and are waiting my response. Please don't be upset if I have not responded yet. I can't!!

If you are looking for a puppy and have emailed me, here is the news: We have 3 puppies available: Jet, a black male; Ty, a gold male; and Raven, a black female. The puppies are now 3 months old, growing like weeds, and into everything. They are a sweet group of puppies, all of them full of themselves, all of them getting along well, and all of them full of puppy love and lots of kisses.

We did not take pictures this weekend. Lynn is working on giving our bathroom a face lift and a fresh coat of paint. We just never got to it. So, if you are here to see photos, take a look at previous posts. The puppies haven't changed too much...just gotten fluffier and cuter.

Right now, don't email me...call if you already sent an email and need an urgent reply. The phone number is on the website: www.joyslynslhasaapsos.com

When will we have more pictures posted? Soon, I hope!

Life is good when you have a Lhasa to love you. I've got a good life!

Joyce

P.S. The photo is of "Maddie" whom we bred. Isn't she adorable? She was owned by my dear friend JoAnne Hays. I'm sure Maddie and JoAnne's Buster were both waiting for JoAnne when she arrived at the Rainbow Bridge.

Sharing Pictures

Ch. Joyslyn's Heartbreaker
Last time I wrote I was frustrated about the website being down. Evidently the company got its server content restored and the server up and running sometime this afternoon. Yesterday I called the company again because on every browser I used I kept getting a "This site is untrustworthy" message when I tried to access the Joyslyn's website. Now, THAT is not a message I want to send to people who visit my site!

Ch. Joyslyn's Heartbreaker
I'm posting some photos of our Lhasa, Breaker. Officially, he is Ch. Joyslyn's Heartbreaker. He earned his championship in the fall of 2009 when he was 13 months old. He is a slow maturing Lhasa so he has been hanging out at home growing coat, and we've been waiting to see if he is ready to go back into the ring. Our training classes start in late February so I'm hoping to get Breaker to a few to see if he remembers what showing is all about. If he does, we'll try a few shows. I'd like to special him one day but for now I need him to get some practice before we get serious about being back in the ring.

When Breaker was being shown, judges always had positive comments about his movement, his coat texture, and his profile. In addition to all that, he has a beautiful expression, a nice reverse scissors bite, and a happy-go-lucky disposition.

Ty, who is Breaker's son, looks a lot like Breaker. He isn't as goofy as Breaker was/is though! Ty's favorite toy is a latex ball. In that he also resembles his sire!

'Til next time!

A Quick Note

Hi! If you have been trying to access our website or my Lhasa email and have been frustrated, trust me, your frustration is no greater than my own. According to the company that hosts my website, sometime Friday afternoon their server went off-line and they have been trying hard ever since to get it back up and running. Yesterday morning the person who answered the phone assured me it would be done by noon. At 5:00, she assured me they had about an hour's work left. I think she meant an hour before they all quit and went home.

I did notice their own website was still up and running!

We did not take puppy pictures this week. Time just got away from us. However, we got some great pictures of Breaker that I'll post later this week.

New Puppy Pictures

Jet, 11 weeks
These pictures were taken of the puppies on Saturday. Ty was 12 weeks on Saturday. The others were 11 weeks on the Thursday before. Saturday was bath day. Everyone was very cooperative in the tub and even more so under the blow dryer. As you can see, the only one who looks a little frazzled is Ty! His hair wound up "every which way!" But what a cute picture.

Maggie, 11 weeks

Enjoy the photos. There is not much more news. We're just trying to stay warm and to deal with the snowfall as it comes. We've been fortunate not to have the heavy, deep snows that many other areas in the country have received. That's fine with me!

People often email after they see the photos and wonder which puppies are available. Right now my plan is to keep Maggie and possibly Whisper. The others are available.

Life is good when you have a Lhasa to love you (and to snuggle with on cold winter nights!).

Black (Lhasa) History at Joyslyn's

Joyslyn's Othello (mid 1970's)
As I look at the three darling black puppies we have (Raven, Jet, and Whisper), I cannot help but think back over the years to the other black Lhasas we've bred, owned, and loved. As a matter of fact, our first black Lhasa came from the first litter we bred. I guess you could say it was that litter that set us one step further on our journey to where we are today. That black Lhasa became Joyslyn's Othello ("Telly"). He was sold to a show home and won some points but never finished.

Sunshine's Black Cherry (mid 80's)
If memory serves, our next black was Sunshine's Black Cherry, whom we purchased from Mary Soto of Sunshine Lhasas. Cherry's grandsire was our own Multiple Group Winning Am. Can. Champion Joyslyn's Piece of the Rock, so it was natural that she fit into our breeding program.

Ch. Joyslyn MiToya Escapade (mid 90's)
In this post are some photos of black Lhasas throughout Joyslyn's history. As you can see, they have been beauties. There, of course, were others that were sold to pet homes. Over the years we've lost track of them because, as you know, not all pet owners want to stay in touch with their breeders. Ch. Joyslyn MiToya Escapade ("Jordie") was the last black Lhasa that we bred and kept. He died in August 2007, just a week after his 14th birthday. His sire was Ch. Joyslyn's Mirage ("Raj") and his mother was Joyslyn's Mystique ("Mysti").

Ch. Karlyn Joyslyn Who's The Fairest (2010)

It was not until I got Mira (Ch. Karlyn Joyslyn Who's the Fairest) in 2008 that another black Lhasa entered our lives. I'd been looking for one for a while and as soon as my friends Karen and Jan had a black girl in their litter, I called 'dibs' on her! Mira is the mother of our current crew of black puppies.

Enjoy the pictures of some of our black Lhasas through the years.

Life is good when you have a Lhasa to love you!
